Hostinger Renewal Price Explained: How to Avoid the Jump (India, 2026)

What the renewal actually looks like

Every shared host prices this way, and Hostinger is not the worst offender, but the jump surprises people because the intro price is so low. Unlike most comparisons these are not estimates: Hostinger prints the exact renewal rate under each plan. Checked 19 September 2026, before GST:

Renewal prices are shown on the pricing page in smaller text under each plan and again on the checkout page. They are not hidden, but they are easy to miss when the big number says INR 69.

Note that the cheapest plan carries the steepest jump. Single looks like the bargain at INR 69 and lands at INR 289, a 4.2x increase, while Unlimited rises the least in proportional terms.

Why it is priced this way

Hostinger, like GoDaddy, Bluehost and HostGator, treats the first term as a customer-acquisition cost. Migrating a site is a hassle, so most customers renew at the higher rate rather than move. That is the business model. It is also why an honest comparison looks at the four-year total, not the monthly headline.

Three ways to keep paying less

1. Buy the longest term at the start. The 48-month plan locks the intro price for four years. A 12-month plan gives you one cheap year and three expensive ones. This is the single most important decision and the reason we tell every client to buy 48 months.

2. Renew early during a promotion. Hostinger lets you extend before expiry. When a Black Friday or anniversary sale is running (they run several a year), extending during the sale applies the promotional rate to the extension. Set a reminder 60 days before expiry and watch for offers.

3. Use the partner discount on the first purchase. It does not apply to renewals, so combine it with the 48-month term.

What not to do

Do not open a new account under a different email to get the intro price again. Hostinger's terms treat it as abuse, and migrating your own site between your own accounts every four years is not worth the risk of losing it.

Do not let the plan lapse to "reset" the pricing. Hostinger keeps the site for a short grace period, then deletes it. We have rebuilt sites for people who tried this.

Is the renewal still good value?

Mostly, but this is where we have to be careful, because we checked the competition on the same day and the picture is mixed.

At INR 649/month, Unlimited still beats Wix Business (INR 900), Squarespace Core (INR 720) and WordPress.com Business (INR 800), and it is far below managed WordPress hosts like WP Engine or Kinsta. It matches BigRock Business exactly at INR 649 while allowing ten times the websites, and it undercuts GoDaddy Deluxe at INR 849.

But Bluehost India Business renews at INR 529, INR 120/month less than Hostinger, with the same 50 websites and 50 GB NVMe. MilesWeb is cheaper again. So the honest answer is that Hostinger's renewal is competitive rather than class-leading. The four-year lock is what makes Hostinger the value pick; at renewal it becomes ordinary, and worth re-shopping.
