Quick answer

After hosting 45+ client websites on Hostinger from Ahmedabad, our verdict is that it is the best value host for Indian small business websites in 2026: cached WordPress pages respond in 60-110 ms from India, uptime has been reliable, and the Mumbai data centre, LiteSpeed caching and NVMe storage are real advantages. The catches are renewal pricing (buy 48 months), chat-only support, and shared plans that struggle with busy WooCommerce stores, where Cloud Startup is the answer.

Who is writing this and why it is different

Most Hostinger reviews are written by affiliates who set up one test site. We are a web design agency in Ahmedabad and, as of August 2026, we run 45+ client websites on Hostinger across a WordPress Pro plan and a WordPress Business plan, plus Cloud plans for individual clients. We also migrate sites off GoDaddy, HostGator and BigRock most months. Yes, we are a Hostinger Partner and earn a commission through our links. The numbers below come from our own sites.

Speed: what we measure from India

We measured Time to First Byte (the time until the server starts sending the page) five times each from Ahmedabad on 25 August 2026, using a cache-busting request:

Site typeStackTTFB range (ms)
Next.js agency site (vgraple.com)Node on Hostinger95-210
Car dealer siteNext.js60-165
Folk group siteWordPress + Elementor, LiteSpeed cache hit90-390
Salon siteWordPress + Elementor, LiteSpeed cache hit60-230
Pharma company siteWordPress + Elementor, cache cold330-2,230
Life sciences siteWordPress + Elementor, LiteSpeed cache miss930-3,160

The pattern is the whole story of Hostinger performance. A WordPress site with LiteSpeed cache correctly configured responds in under 100 ms from India, which is as fast as hosting gets at this price. The same server with the cache missing or cold takes one to three seconds, because it is rendering PHP and querying the database on every request. The hosting is fast; the configuration decides whether you see it. That is why the free setup we include with purchases through our link configures the cache first.

Full methodology and quarterly updates are on the speed tests page.

Uptime and reliability

Across our client sites we have had no multi-hour outages in the past year. Short blips of a few minutes happen a couple of times a year, usually during maintenance windows announced in hPanel. That matches Hostinger's 99.9% commitment. We monitor every client site externally, so this is measured, not assumed.

hPanel and day-to-day use

hPanel is simpler than cPanel and non-technical owners manage it fine: one-click WordPress install, staging on Business and above, file manager, email setup, DNS. The things we wish it had: a proper cron manager for WordPress, and clearer warnings when a shared plan is near its CPU limit (it warns, but late).

Support

Chat only, 24/7, response in a few minutes. First-line agents are good at account and DNS issues and weaker at WordPress-level debugging; they will point you to a tutorial. There is no phone support. If you want to call someone, GoDaddy and Bluehost still offer that. We handle support for our clients, so this matters less to them.

The catches

Renewal pricing. The intro price is for the first term only; renewals are two to five times higher. Buy 48 months. We wrote a full explainer on the renewal price.

Shared plans and busy stores. Premium and Business handle brochure and content sites well. A WooCommerce store taking many orders a day, or a site with logged-in users, needs Cloud Startup. We have moved client stores up for exactly this reason.

"Free" extras. The free domain is one year. The free email is a 1 GB Hostinger mailbox, not Google Workspace. Fine, but know it going in.

Cache dependency. As the speed table shows, an unconfigured WordPress site on Hostinger is not fast. Most one-star reviews we read describe this.

Who should not use Hostinger

  • Businesses that need phone support in the middle of the night
  • Very large stores or high-traffic publishers, who should look at Cloudways or a managed WordPress host
  • Anyone who needs Indian data residency for compliance beyond a Mumbai server location (Hostinger is an EU company; ask a lawyer if this matters to you)

Verdict

For an Indian small business website, Hostinger is the plan we buy with our own money for our own site and recommend to clients. The value comes from the Mumbai data centre, LiteSpeed and NVMe on a four-year lock. Buy Business for a standard site or Cloud Startup for a store, take the 48-month term, use code VGRAPLE for 20% off, and either configure the cache properly or let us do it free.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hostinger good for websites in India?

Yes. It has a Mumbai data centre, LiteSpeed caching and NVMe storage on Business and above. On our client sites, cached WordPress pages respond in 60-110 ms from Ahmedabad.

Is Hostinger reliable?

In our experience across 45+ client sites, yes: no multi-hour outages in the past year and only brief maintenance blips, consistent with the 99.9% uptime commitment.

Why do some reviews say Hostinger is slow?

Usually because WordPress caching was not configured. An uncached WordPress page on the same server can take one to three seconds; with LiteSpeed cache enabled it is under 100 ms. We saw both on our own sites.

Does Hostinger have phone support?

No. Support is 24/7 live chat only. Responses come within minutes and are strong on account and DNS issues, weaker on WordPress debugging.

Which Hostinger plan does VGraple use?

Our own site runs on Hostinger. Client sites sit on WordPress Business, WordPress Pro and Cloud plans. For a new client we recommend Cloud Startup on a 48-month term, or Business when budget is tighter.

Is Hostinger better than GoDaddy in India?

For hosting performance and price, yes: Hostinger is faster from India, cheaper at intro and renewal, and includes SSL and email that GoDaddy sells as add-ons. GoDaddy keeps phone support and stronger domain management.
