Hostinger Speed Tests from India: TTFB Data from Sites We Host (Updated Quarterly)

Measured on 25 August 2026 from Ahmedabad, live websites on Hostinger with LiteSpeed cache active returned a first byte in 60-110 ms on repeat requests, and Next.js sites in 95-210 ms. WordPress sites where the cache was cold or missing took 330 ms to 3.2 s. The server is fast; whether a site is fast depends almost entirely on caching being configured.

Method

  • Metric: Time to First Byte (TTFB), the delay before the server sends the first byte of the HTML. It isolates hosting and server-side rendering from front-end weight.
  • Location: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on a business broadband connection. Hostinger's India data centre is in Mumbai.
  • Tool: curl with a no-cache request header, five requests per site, run consecutively.
  • Date: 25 August 2026.
  • All sites are on Hostinger shared WordPress plans or Cloud plans with the India server location.

What the numbers say

Cached WordPress on Hostinger is fast from India. The salon and folk group sites are ordinary Elementor builds with a dozen plugins each. With LiteSpeed cache serving the page, the server answers in 60-110 ms. Google's guidance for good TTFB is under 800 ms; these are well inside it.

The first request after idle is slower. Run 1 is higher on every site (200-400 ms on the fast ones). That is the cache warming and PHP workers spinning up. Real visitors see the warm numbers because someone was there before them.

Uncached WordPress is the problem, not the host. The life sciences site returned a LiteSpeed cache miss on every request during the test, so PHP rendered the page each time: about one second, with a three-second first hit. Same server class as the 67 ms site. The pharma site had a cold cache and settled around 390 ms once warm. Both are configuration issues we fix in the free setup, not hosting limits.

Next.js on Hostinger performs like a good VPS. Our own site and the dealer site are server-rendered Node applications, not static files, and they hold around 100 ms.

What this means when choosing a plan

Pick the plan for the uncacheable work your site does (checkout, logins, search), because cached pages are fast on every plan. That is the logic behind Business for content sites and Cloud Startup for stores.
