How to Migrate from BigRock to Hostinger (Hosting and Domain, 2026)

Migrate from BigRock to Hostinger by backing up the site (cPanel or a WordPress plugin), importing it on Hostinger under a temporary URL, recreating email and DNS records in hPanel, and then pointing the BigRock domain's nameservers at Hostinger. The domain can stay at BigRock or be transferred later; either way the site does not go offline.
BigRock in one paragraph
BigRock is primarily a domain registrar (part of the Endurance/Newfold group) that also sells shared hosting on cPanel. Domains at BigRock are fine to keep. The hosting is where clients hit slow servers and steep renewals, and that is what this guide moves.
Decide: keep or transfer the domain
Keep the domain at BigRock. Simplest. Change only nameservers after the site is on Hostinger. You keep renewing the domain with BigRock.
Transfer the domain to Hostinger. Optional, after the site is stable. Unlock the domain in the BigRock panel, disable privacy, get the authorisation (EPP) code, and start the transfer in hPanel. 5-7 days, no downtime, and Hostinger adds a year to the registration. Do not do this in the same week as the hosting move; one change at a time.
Step 1: Record everything
From the BigRock panel and cPanel: DNS records (Zone Editor), email accounts, WordPress admin logins, database names. If BigRock email is in use, note the MX records.
Step 2: Buy Hostinger and add the site
Business for a normal site, Cloud Startup for a store, 48-month term. Add the website in hPanel with the domain name and India server location. Do not change nameservers yet.
Step 3: Move the files and database
WordPress: hPanel > Migrate website with the WordPress login, or export with All-in-One WP Migration and import on Hostinger. Other sites: download public_html over FTP from BigRock cPanel, upload to Hostinger, export and import the database.
Step 4: Test on the Hostinger temporary URL
Homepage, inner pages, forms, images, admin login. On WooCommerce, place a test order.
Step 5: Email and DNS on Hostinger
Create mailboxes in hPanel > Emails. Add MX, SPF, DKIM and any CNAME records in hPanel DNS. If you are keeping Google Workspace or Zoho for email, add their MX records exactly as they were at BigRock.
Step 6: Change nameservers at BigRock
BigRock panel > Domain > Name Servers > enter Hostinger's nameservers (shown in hPanel). Propagation up to 24 hours. Both sites serve in the meantime.
Step 7: Finish
Free SSL issues automatically once DNS resolves; force HTTPS. Test email, resubmit the sitemap in Search Console, configure LiteSpeed cache, then cancel BigRock hosting before its renewal date (BigRock auto-renews; turn it off in the panel).
BigRock-specific notes
- BigRock's panel and cPanel are separate logins; the DNS you need is in the BigRock panel if nameservers are BigRock's, or in cPanel Zone Editor if they point to the hosting.
- BigRock auto-renewal is on by default. Switch it off for hosting after the move, but leave it on for the domain if you keep it there.
- Sites built with BigRock's website builder cannot be exported; they need a rebuild on WordPress, which our migration service handles at the WooCommerce/large rate.

Can I keep my domain at BigRock and host on Hostinger?
Yes. Change the nameservers in the BigRock panel to Hostinger's after the site is set up. The domain stays registered with BigRock and renews there.
How do I transfer a domain from BigRock to Hostinger?
Unlock the domain and disable privacy in the BigRock panel, request the EPP code, and start the transfer in hPanel. It takes 5-7 days and adds a year of registration. Do it after the hosting move, not during.
Will my BigRock email work after moving to Hostinger?
